01 / API integration

Connect APIs.
Control data flows.

Connect SaaS platforms, internal applications and partner systems through a defined API integration. From authentication and mapping to error handling, rate limits and technical handover.

Starting point

A reachable endpoint is just the beginning.

The real challenge lies between systems: mismatched IDs, incomplete payloads, expired tokens, pagination and partially failed requests. We clarify the data model and expected behavior before building the connection.

Applications

APIs in your business process.

ERP and CRM

Transfer customer and order data using a system of record, shared IDs and a defined update direction.

SaaS and internal applications

Bring information from a cloud application into your internal workflows without transferring data manually.

Partners and marketplaces

Exchange product, order or status data with partner platforms. API quotas, pagination and interface changes are part of the planning.

Project scope

Data contract.
Access. Recovery.

Scope depends on your systems and the desired outcome. We agree on these points with you.

The existing API determines what is possible.

Permissions, vendor documentation, test environments and supported operations determine scope. We clarify these conditions before committing to real-time processing or a bidirectional connection.

  • Inventory of source and target APIs, including access requirements
  • Field mappings and documented request/response structures
  • Authentication, credential ownership and token renewal
  • Pagination, rate limits, timeouts and bounded retries
  • Acceptance criteria for success, rejection and duplicate delivery
  • Logging, incident responsibilities and technical documentation

Service scope and responsibilities are agreed for each project. Our approach: acceptance and operations

Technical questions

Authentication, limits and failure scenarios.

Is integration possible without complete API documentation?
We examine available endpoints, sample requests and observed behavior. Missing documentation increases uncertainty, so we first define a limited, verifiable scope with the system owner.
Do you work with REST and SOAP?
Yes. Implementation follows the existing interface, authentication model and vendor requirements. JSON or XML defines the format; the business meaning also needs to be agreed.
How do you prevent duplicate records?
We agree on stable external IDs and use idempotent operations where supported by the target system. Otherwise, duplicate detection and reprocessing rules need to be explicitly defined.
What happens when an API is unavailable?
The connection needs bounded retries, clear error states and an agreed escalation path. Some workflows can queue a request; others need to stop. The business process determines the appropriate behavior.

What should your systems
achieve together?

Platforms

REST API integration

Documentation is available and a test request works. Yet everyday operations still produce missing data or duplicate records. DataSource connects your REST API to the actual business process and plans for missing responses as well.

Platforms

WordPress REST API & automation

Posts, product information or location updates are copied from other systems. We connect the source to WordPress and design a workflow that matches updates and respects editorial approval.
